Reverend Eric W. Baker Pastor | New St John MBC
Reverend Eric W. Baker has been the Pastor of New St. John Missionary Baptist Church since 2009. He is married to First Lady Kimberly W. Baker (working for the cause of Christ), they are blessed with four children: Malik, Miles, Marcus, and Hanna.
Pastor Baker was born and raised in Sparta, Georgia, graduating from Hancock Central High School. He confessed his belief in Christ at the early age of twelve and was baptized. He comes from a family lineage of ancestors who were strong in the Lord. Pastor Baker is the fourth child of six children born to Deacon Joe and Deaconess Annie Baker (who currently reside in Sparta, GA). A graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, Rev. Baker earned an Electronic Engineering Degree. He is also a graduate of the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been employed at the following companies for the past 20 years: IBM, Solectron & Flextronics in a variety of management roles.
Rev. Baker previously served as a Trustee, Christian Education Director & Associate Minister under the leadership of the late Dr. Robert H. Leak, Sr. at New St. John Missionary Baptist Church. In March 2009, Rev. Baker was installed as Pastor of New St. John Missionary Baptist Church. He believes that the Holy Bible is the true Word of God and that Salvation is by none other than Jesus Christ. Therefore, he prides himself in teaching and preaching God’s uncompromising Word. He strongly believes in tearing down traditional attitudes within the church and getting on with the business of giving God our very best!
